Around 30 people gathered yesterday at the exclusive Mosimann’s dining club in the heart of London’s Belgravia for a ground-breaking event. Firstly, this was the inaugral Leaders@Mosimanns dinner, hosted by Elaine Mosimann as a way of connecting her twin passions of leadership development and fine dining. In addition, it was the first event in the UK to centre on the new leadership paradigm of ‘Leader as Host, Host as Leader’.
The beautifully decorated Garrard room (each private dining room is connected to a luxury brand) was an excellent venue for the event, with guests from the worlds of coaching, leadership, luxury lifestyle and other Mosimann’s members gathering over a glass of champagne. Elaine explained that the menu had been specially designed to connect with a different aspect of hosting culture, and that Mark McKergow would be speaking before each course to introduce the elements of Leader as Host. Mosimann’s also has a great tradition of hosting and hospitality, and we were honoured to have Anton Mosimann himself drop by to say hello at the start of the evening.
Just to tickle your taste buds, the menu for the evening comprised:
Quail Tagine with Lemon and Olives
Flat Bread, Pickled Vegetables,Barrel Aged Feta and Aubergine Caviar
Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume, Domaine de Perdrycourt, France 2010
Steamed Fillet of Sea Bream with Miso Sauce and Stir Fry Vegetables
Steamed Fragrant Rice, Green Beans with Black Bean Sauce, Bok Choy with Ginger
Château Faugères Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, France 2006
Selection of British Cheeses served Canapé Style
Mango and Papaya “Mess”
followed by Coffee, Tea and Petits Fours
The menu cards were cleverly designed to include short notes about the various leadership elements discussed. You can download a copy at

The evening was a great success, with plenty of networking and time to relax in amongst the learning and stimulation around this new yet ancient look at leadership. The next Leaders@Mosimann’s event will be about ‘Business At The Chinese Table’ with Maria Jicheva and Caroline Beery on Tuesday 8 May 2012.
